whereas at a view of frankpledge with court here held tuesday being 21.6.1603 Robt Rookes was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs among other things to one croft of customary land containing by estimation 10a called Loveneyes with a certain aldercarr and to one pightle with their appurtenances sometime of Jn Matteras and lately of Thos Rolte and Wm Orvis illegible text as is shown by a copy of the aforesaid court clearly presented now it is shown by the homage of this court that the aforesaid Robt Rookes after the last court and before this court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Wm Dashe instead of the bailiff in the presence of Sam Brewer and Dan Lea two customary tenants the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor the aforesaid croft of land called Loveneyes among other things the aforesaid premises with their appurtenances to the use and behoof of Thos Prior his heirs and assigns forever to whom the same said Thos present here in court the lord by his aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have to himself and his heirs to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents customs and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine and fealty and was admitted thereof tenant etc
