it is also shown by the homage that Hen Gibson out of court and after the last court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Simon Ive instead of the bailiff in the presence of Hen Abbott and Robt Crowe two customary tenants of this manor the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor one customary garden now built on at Colneford Hill called Perrys Garden which he took for himself and his heirs by the surrender of Nich Griggs and Kath his wife and Jn Webb at a view with court here held the thursday in easter week being 20.4.1598 to the us e and behoof of Edm Turner of Chappell alias Pontisbright clerk and Alice now his wife for and during the term of their natural lives and to the longer liver and after their decease to the use and behoof of the aforesaid heirs and assigns of Edm Turner forever to whom the same said Edm and Alice the lord by his steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have to them the aforesaid Edm and Alice in the aforesaid form and to the heirs and assigns of Edm himself to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents customs and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they gave to the lord their fine as is shown in the margin     and the aforesaid Edm made fealty but the fealty of the aforesaid Alice was respited etc and they were admitted in the aforesaid form as tenants etc
