whereas at a court here held 7.6.6Jas1 Barbara at that time wife of Francis Newton was admitted for herself and her heirs to the remainder or reversion of one cottage with garden adjoining situated and lying upon Colneford Hill when it should occur by and after the death of a certain Eliz Hicks by the surrender of Robt Caunt and Jn Caunt as by a roll of the aforesaid court it is clearly shown now it is shown by the homage of this court that the aforesaid Barbara died many years ago and that Francis Newton is her son and next heir thereof according to the custom of the aforesaid manor and of full age and should have the right to the premises upon which now to this court came the aforesaid Francis Newton in person and sought admittance to the aforesaid cottage and other premises as his right and inheritance to whom the same said Francis the lord by his aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have to him the aforesaid Francis Newton and his heirs to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents customs and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he made fine and fealty thereof and was admitted etc
