whereas at a court here held for the aforesaid manor 27.5.last it was shown by the homage of this court that Barth Church was lately seised for himself and his heirs among other things of and in certain customary lands held by copy of a roll of this manor viz of one croft of land containing 3r more or less now called Crosfeild and that he himself was seised thereof in .4.1623 he committed the crime of murder on a man and for such offence he was attainted by outlawry at the suit of our lord the king now by reason of this same said crime and attainder the aforesaid croft of land called Crosse Field among others was found forfeit to the lord of the aforesaid manor by a roll of the court here above cited it was clearly shown on which same said pretext the aforesaid premises the croft of land among others was seised into the hands of Rich Harlakenden esq lord of the aforesaid manor and he himself was thus lawfully seised thereof now at this court by his grace he specifically granted out of his hands the aforesaid croft of land to Jn Church gentleman the natural brother of the aforesaid Barth and his heirs to whom the same said Jn Church present here in court the lord by his aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have to him the aforesaid Jn Church his heirs and assigns forever to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents customs and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he made therefore fine and fealty to the lord and was admitted etc
