it is shown by the homage that Jn Middleton senior out of court namely 19.2.1625 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Simon Ive instead of the bailiff in the presence of Thos Smyth and Nath Kinge two customary tenants the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor his cottage or tenement called Sadlers with appurtenances in which the same said Jn Middleton and Jn Theobald now live to the use and behoof of Jn Middleton his elder son and the heirs of the aforesaid Jn the son forever upon condition however that if the aforesaid Jn Middleton the son his heirs executors or assigns should pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Jn Middleton senior his executors or assigns the sum of 6li of legal money of England in or at the aforesaid cottage called Sadlers in or upon the day at which time the next court for the aforesaid manor is to be held or in or upon the feast day of michaelmas 29.9. whichever of them happen first that then the aforesaid surrender should stand in full force otherwise it should be void etc and furthermore it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid Jn Middleton the son paid the aforesaid sum of 6li according to the tenor of the aforesaid condition upon which now to this court came the aforesaid Jn Middleton the son and sought complete admittance to the aforesaid cottage with appurtenances to whom the same said Jn Middleton the son present here in court the lord by his aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have to him and his heirs absolutely without any conditions to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents customs and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he made therefore fine and fealty and was admitted etc
