and furthermore at this court it is shown by the homage that Jn Church gentleman a customary tenant of the aforesaid manor after the last court and before this court viz 22.8.1629 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Simon Ive instead of the bailiff in the presence of Israel Ennewes and Dan Lea two customary tenants of the aforesaid manor the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor all that customary close or parcel of land called Sawyers with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Jn Hawksby clerk vicar of Earls Colne and Dionisia his wife for and during their lifetimes and to the longer liver and after their decease to the use of Wm Hawksby son of the said Jn Hawksby and Dionisia and the heirs and assigns of the said Wm forever who present here in court humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by his aforesaid steward viz to the aforesaid Jn and Dionisia in person and to the aforesaid Wm by the aforesaid Jn Hawksby as his attorney and deputy granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have the aforesaid close or parcel of land called Sawyers with appurtenances to the aforesaid Jn Hawksby and Dionisia his wife for their lifetime and to the longer liver the remainder thereof after their decease to the aforesaid Wm and his heirs forever to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they gave to the lord their fines and the aforesaid Jn and Dionisia made fealty to the lord but the fealty of the aforesaid Wm was respited because he was a child and thus they were admitted thereof tenants in the aforesaid form
