and furthermore at this court it was shown by the homage that Roger Bewers on 1.11.last surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Edm Turnor instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Meadowe and Wm Meadowe two customary tenants of the aforesaid manor the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor all that his cottage or tenement with appurtenances now in the tenure of the said Roger and situated next to Colneford Hill to the use and behoof of Jn Meadowe senior of Colne Wake yeoman and his heirs forever upon the condition that if the aforesaid Roger Bewers his heirs executors of assigns should pay or cause to he paid to the aforesaid Jn Meadowes his executors or assigns 52s8d of legal money of England upon 2.11.1640 at the dwelling house of the said Jn Meadowe in the aforesaid Colne Wake that then the aforesaid surrender should be void etc
