whereas at a court here held 16.4.1623 Joan Middleton wife of Wm Middleton was admitted tenant of the lord for herself and her heirs to one tenement or cottage now in ruins and a yard containing by estimation 16p of land more or less parcel of Sadlers now at this court it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid Joan died after twenty years thus seised thereof without heirs and no one knows who should have the land upon which at this court publicly and openly proclamation was three times made that if anyone should have the right to the premises that he should come and agree with the lord for a fine but no one came therefore the aforesaid premises were seised by the bailiff of the manor into the hands of the lord as is the custom and afterwards in that same court the lord by the aforesaid steward granted out of his hands the aforesaid parcel of land or yard to Jn Munt and by the aforesaid steward delivered to him seisin thereof by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid parcel of land to the aforesaid Jn Munt his heirs and assigns from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by fealty suit of court three times a week for three weeks and the rent of 6d per annum and for such a grant he gave to the lord for a fine and made fealty
