and furthermore whereas at a court here held 17.8.1643 Edw Somerson and Kath his wife were admitted tenant of the lord for themselves and the heirs of Edw to one tenement with garden adjoining situated in Holtstreet in Earls Colne as by a roll of the aforesaid court it appears now to this court came the aforesaid Edw Somerson and in full court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the aforesaid steward the aforesaid tenement and garden with appurtenances to the use and behoof of the said Edw Somerson and Kath for their lifetimes and after their decease to the use and behoof of Giles Crow and Ann his wife and the heirs and assigns of the said Giles forever upon which came here into court the aforesaid Edw and Kath and the aforesaid Giles Crowe and Ann and humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid tenement and garden with appurtenances to the aforesaid Edw and Kath for their lifetimes and to the longer liver and after their decease to the said Giles Crow and Ann his wife and the heirs of the said Giles forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord etc and the aforesaid Giles and Ann gave to the lord for a fine
