and furthermore at this court it is shown by the homage by an account of the aforesaid steward that Francis Turner and Helen his wife customary tenants of the aforesaid manor in the right of Helen herself after the last general court viz 17.5.1640 came before Jn Joscelyne then steward of the aforesaid manor and out of court Helen herself solely and secretly examined by the aforesaid steward as is the custom and agreeing surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of his said steward one customary messuage or tenement with yard with appurtenances situated in Holstreet in Earls Colne and then in the tenure of Wm Grant or his assigns and one cottage with appurtenances lying in the aforesaid Holstreet then in the tenure of Eliz Arnold or her assigns and all other tenements and customary inheritances of the said Francis and Helen in the right of Helen herself held of the aforesaid manor with the appurtenances to the use and behoof of Rich Fisher and Ann his wife and the heirs and assigns of the said Rich forever who present in court humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid tenement or cottage and other premises with appurtenances to the aforesaid Rich Fisher and Ann his wife and their heirs forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and accustomed and they gave to the lord for a fine and made fealty
