and afterwards whereas at a court here held 17.2.1648 Rich Hawksby was admitted tenant for himself and his heirs to divers parcels of land called Pristland and Dagnall Hill lying together and containing 22a more or less situate in Earls Colne and by the roll of court it appears now at this court it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid Rich Hawksby after the last court viz 21.11.1648 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Wm Adams instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Mich Hayward and Jn Bowles two customary tenants of the manor aforesaid here testifying etc the aforesaid parcels of land with appurtenances to the work and use of Jn Morley of Chappell gentleman and Mary his wife and their heirs and assigns forever who present in court humbly sought admittance to the premises to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered seisin of the premises by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid parcel of land called Preistland and Dagnall Hill with appurtenances to the aforesaid Jn Morley and Mary his wife and their heirs forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs and they gave to the lord for a fine and made fealty and thus are admitted tenants thereof
