(very faded) and whereas at a court held for the said manor 28.12.1638 sir Jn Jacob knight was admitted tenant to him and his heirs to a meadow called Hunwicke Meadow otherwise Bridge Meadow containing by estimation 3a more or less lying in Earls Colne or White Colne now at this court it was presented by the homage that the said sir Jn Jacob since the last court that is to say upon 17.10.last surrendered into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of Wm and in the presence of Robt Hutton and Rich Fisher two customary tenants of the said manor the same witnessing etc the said meadow with the appurtenances to the use of such person and for such and estates as Geo Cressener of Earls Colne gentleman or his heirs shall nominate limit and appoint and until such nomination limitation and appointment to the use of the said Geo Cressener and his heirs whereupon at this court came the said Geo Cressener and in open court did nominate limit and appoint the said of the said premises to be to the use of Edw Cressener the said Edw and did nominate limit and appoint the said Edw and his heirs to be the persons to whose use the said surrender and thereupon the said Edw Cressener by the said Geo Cressener his attorney and deputy prayed to be admitted tenant to the same to which same Edw by the hands of the said Geo as his deputy in that behalf the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said meadow with the appurtenances to the said Edw Cressener his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs formerly due and of right accustomed and he gave to the lord for his fine and his fealty is respited
