whereas at a court held for the said manor 31.12.1651 it was presented by the homage that Dan Rogers the elder clerk who held to him and his heirs one cottage lately built and 7a of land more or less called Tredgolds Fenn parcel of certain lands called Tredgolds did since the then last court surrender into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of Robt Johnson in place of the bailiff and in the presence of Ralph Josselin clerk and Giles Crow two customary tenants of the said manor the same witnessing the said cottage and 7a of land more or less by the name of all his customary lands and tenements held of the said manor to the use of Dan Rogers the younger clerk and of his heirs and assigns forever immediately from and after the decease of the said Dan Rogers the elder now at this court it was presented that the said Dan Rogers the elder since the last court died and that the said Dan Rogers the younger is his son and heir to which said Dan Rogers by the hands of Wm Harlakenden esq his deputy in that behalf the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said cottage and 7a of land more or less with the appurtenances to the said Dan Rogers his heirs and assigns of the lord of the said manor by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs formerly due and of fight accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine but his fealty is respited
