whereas at a court held for the said manor 18.1.1649 the custody of the body of Jn Sparrow then of the age of 4yrs of thereabouts and of his customary lands and tenements held of the said manor was granted and committed to Joan Higham widow until the said Jn shall attain his full age and whereas the said Joan is since dead now at this court the lord of the said manor by his steward did grant and commit the custody of the body and lands of the said Jn Sparrow to Mary Sparrow widow mother of the said Jn until the said Jn shall attain his full age to the intents and purposes mentioned in the last will of Wm Sparrow father of the said Jn to hold of the lord by the rents due etc and she gave to the lord for a fine
