whereas at a court here held 17.4.19Chas1 Xoph Matthew and Bridget his wife took for themselves and the heirs of the said Xoph one tenement and garden and rentery adjoining with appurtenances called Ruffles and one piece of land containing by estimation 2r more or less with appurtenances late parcel of Barnehawes now to this court came the aforesaid Xoph and Bridget and Bridget herself by the aforesaid steward first solely and secretly examined as is the custom and consenting the aforesaid Xoph and Bridget by the rod surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of his aforesaid steward the aforesaid tenement garden rentery and piece of land with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Wm Jenison of Colchester gentleman his heirs and assigns forever to whom the same said Wm in person and seeking this the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to have and to hold the aforesaid premises with appurtenances to the aforesaid Wm his heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine etc
