Jn Ruggles to a cottage late of Wm Sprigg | whereas at a court held for the aforesaid manor 27.9.15Chas1 Thos Ruggles and Edith his wife were admitted tenants of the lord viz the aforesaid Thos for his lifetime and after his decease to the aforesaid Edith and the heirs of her body legitimately procreated by the said Thos the remainder to the rightful heirs of the said Edith to one cottage and curtilage with appurtenances late of Wm Sprigg now at this court it was shown by the homage that the aforesaid Thos died divers years ago and that the said Edith after the last court died thus seised thereof and that Jn Ruggles is son and heir of the said Edith from her body by the said Thos procreated and heir of the said Edith who present in court sought admittance for himself as tenant of the lord for the premises to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid cottage and curtilage with appurtenances to the aforesaid Jn and the heirs of his body legitimately procreated the remainder thereof to the said Jn and his heirs forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine |
