at the last court Geo Clarke was admitted tenant to him and his heirs to one parcel of customary land parcel of Millfield containing by estimation 4a1r27p lying between a parcel of Millfield on the east and upon a parcel of meadow called Holmes on the west one head abuts on Barthall Mead and on the said meadow called Holmes on the south and the other head abuts on another parcel of Millfield to the north and to another parcel of Millfield containing 1a3r lying between the aforesaid parcel of land on the north west and to another parcel of Millfield containing 32p of land more or less abutting on Barthall Mead aforesaid against the south east and at a court here held 19.3.1678 it appeared to the homage that the said Geo Clarke 22.12.1677 surrendered by the rod into the hands of the lord by the hands of his steward the aforesaid parcels of land and all and singular the premises with appurtenances to the use of the said Geo Clarke until the marriage between him and Sarah Coveney only daughter of Jn Coveney senior of Colchester in Essex is solemnised and after the solemnisation of the marriage aforesaid then to the said Geo for and during the term of his life and after his decease to the said Sarah for the term of her life and after the death of the survivor to the use of the heirs of the body of the said Geo on the body of the said Sarah legitimately procreated and for default of children to the heirs of the said Geo Clarke forever now at this court it appeared to the homage that the aforesaid marriage had been celebrated and upon this at this court the said Geo Clarke and Sarah his wife humbly petitioned admittance of the lord who by the steward granted and delivered seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said parcels of land and all and singular the premises to the said Geo Clarke and his assigns for the term of his life and after his death to the said Sarah Clarke and her assigns for her life with the remainder as limited in the surrender aforesaid of the lord etc and they gave for fine etc
