at this court came Jn Grimston customary tenant of this manor and surrendered into the hands of the lord by the steward eight crofts or parcels of land called Moorelands containing by estimation 40a more or less with a barn and stable upon them built with appurtenances now or late in the occupation of Thos Brewer or his assigns to the use of the said Jn Grimston and his assigns for his natural life and after his death to the use of Mary his wife for the term of her life and after her death to the use of the heirs of the body of the said Jn on the body of the said Mary procreated and for default of heirs to the uses appointed by the said Jn in his last will and testament in writing and for default of legitimate heirs etc then to the right heirs of the said Jn forever upon which the said Jn in person and the said Mary by the said Jn Grimston her husband as her attorney and deputy petitioned admittance etc to whom the lord by the steward delivered seisin to have and to hold the said croft of parcel of land and barn and stable and all and singular premises to the said Jn Grimston and his assigns for the term of his life and after his death to the said Mary Grimston for the term of her life to remain after her death as in the surrender aforesaid etc and they gave the lord for fine etc
