at this court it was testified by the steward and appeared to the homage that 9.8.last Rich Heyward customary tenant of the manor surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of the steward one parcel of land called Little Sixpence containing 4a more of less situate in White Colne and now in the occupation of the said Rich or his assigns to the use and intention following viz to the use of the said Rich for the term of his life and after to the use of Edw Abbut and Hen Abbut junior and their heirs for and during the term of the life of the said Rich to faithfully to preserve his interest in the premises and after the death of the said Rich to the use of Sarah his wife for her life and after her death to the use of the first son of the said Rich legitimately procreated and for defect of such to the use of the second son and all subsequent sons procreated by Rich on the body of the said Sarah severally and successively and to remain to the eldest son and the heirs of his body or to the several heirs of the bodies of the successive sons etc and for default of sons to the use of all the daughters of the said Rich and Sarah procreated and to the several heirs of their bodies and for defect of such to the use of the said Rich Heyward his heirs and assigns forever and the said Rich and Sarah petition admittance to the premises etc and the steward delivered seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said lands to the said Rich Heyward for and during the term of his life and after his death to the use of the said Sarah Heyward for and during the term of her life and after her death to remain as above stated at the will of the lord etc and they gave the lord for fine etc
