at a court held 25.7.1705 after a recovery had Jn Grimston was admitted to him and his heirs to eight crofts or parcels of land called Moorelands containing 40a one with a messuage barn and stable built on in Earls Colne now at this court it appeared that the said Jn Grimston 19.10.last surrendered by the hands of Solomon Grimston gentleman instead of the bailiff in the presence of Edw Johnson and Isaac Potter the premises aforesaid and all his customary lands held of the manor to the use of Mary Harrington one of the daughters of Edm Harrington of Great Tey yeoman who by Edm Harrington was admitted etc and gave fine etc and fealty was respited
