at a court held 4.10.last Edw Abbutt gentleman was admitted to one tenement and garden called Mathewes Acre and to one piece of land with a well in the same late parcel of a tenement of Thos Elmestead one croft of land called Elmstead Croft with a barn thereon built held by the annual rent of 2s9d and also to one tenement with appurtenances called Flamans held by the annual rent of 8d and also to a certain parcel of land lying behind a tenement called Malthouse with a garden called Grapnells held by the annual rent of 2s with all services now at this court it appeared that the said Edw 21.11.1711 surrendered by the hands of Geo Bull instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Geo Toller and Robt Harris all the said premises in Earls Colne in the several possessions of the said Edw and Hen Wenden and the remainders etc to the use of Dan Bayley of Colne Engaine yeoman who was admitted etc and gave fine and fealty respited
