at this court it appeared that Gilb Smith on 27.5.1718 surrendered by the hands of Solomon Grimston deputy steward two orchards whereof one lies on the north part of a free messuage there containing 2r and the other lies on the east part of the said tenement and contains 40p and one purpresture containing 4p lying next to the free messuage aforesaid and also 20a of land or pasture particularly mentioned with abuttals in the will of Ralph Josselin clerk deceased and commonly called Coes etc lying at Colne Green in Earls Colne to the use of Math Newman of Earls Colne yeoman who was admitted and gave fine and fealty
