whereas at a court held 23.4.1731 Joseph Abbutt gentleman did surrender all his copyhold messuages and tenements etc to the use of his will now at this court the homage present his death whereupon came Abigail the wife of Oliver Johnson and sister of the said Joseph Abbutt and showed his will bearing date 9.11.1734 in and by which the said Joseph did devise to his sister Abigail and her heirs all that messuage or tenement and farm called Curds and Priestland with all the lands and appurtenances thereunto belonging and all his shares and right of in and to the same as they are situate in Earls Colne in the tenure of the said Oliver Johnson or his undertenants subject to the payment of his late brother Edw Abbutt's legacies given to her children and thereupon she was admitted to two fifth parts the whole into five parts equally to be divided of all that messuage or tenement and 20a of land called Sandhills and two gardens with their appurtenances and also of two crofts of land containing 6a called Wrongs and also of certain lands called Coggs Grove and Priestland with their appurtenances which said two parts and shares of and in the said premises the said Joseph Abbutt had on the surrender of Francis Sibley and Dorothy his wife Thos Everett junior and Judith his wife which Dorothy and Judith were two of the daughters of Isaac Elliston deceased and also to two other fifth parts of all the said lands which the said Joseph had of the surrender of Ruth Elliston and Eliz Elliston two other daughters of the said Isaac deceased and she gave fine etc
