at this court found that on 20.8.1739 Wm Raymond son and heir of Mary Raymond deceased who was cousin and devisee or heir of Ann Crow widow deceased did out of court surrender and release by the hands of the chief steward all that his customary or copyhold messuage or tenement with appurtenances in Earls Colne sometime in the tenure of Ann Middleton and then of Jn Puflet or his assigns and late the estate of the said Ann Crow and all the estate right title etc of him the said Wm of and in the premises etc to the only use of Joseph Bott of Earls Colne saymaker in the actual possession of him the said Joseph now being by virtue of his admission to the premises at a court held 18.4.1727 on the surrender of Caleb Dawson and Ann his wife the sister of the said Wm Raymond and then claiming as heir of the presumption of her brother being dead he having been out of the realm for many years beyond sea and not heard of till late
