at this court found that on 12.5.1743 Jn Newton gentleman surrendered by the hands of Solomon Grimston gentleman deputy steward of the manor all that his messuage or tenement with all houses outhouses barns stables buildings yards gardens orchards lands and pasture ground thereunto belonging containing 20a with their appurtenances called Claypitts or Sandhills as the said premises now are in the occupation of the said Jn Newton or his assigns and are holden of the manor by copy to the several uses hereinafter mentioned that is to say to the use of the said Jn Newton for life and after his death to the use of Hannah the now wife of the said Jn Newton and her assigns for life and after the death of the survivor to the use of Thos Newton eldest son of the said Jn and Hannah for his life and after the several deaths of Jn Hannah and Thos and the survivor to the use of Sarah the wife of the said Thos and her assigns for life and after all their deaths in case of any child or children of the body of the said Thos on the body of the said Sarah then living then to the use of all and every such child or children and for such estate and in such parts and proportions and under such conditions and for such end s and intents as the said Thos and Sarah shall at any time during the coverture between them by any writing under both their hands testified by two or more credible witnesses either with or without power or revocation or new appointment declare limit or appoint etc and for default of such to the use of all children of the body of Thos on the body of Sarah then living in such manner as any survivor of the said Thos or Sarah shall limit etc and in default of such to the use of the first son of the body of the said Thos on the body of the said Sarah and the heirs of his body issuing etc and for default of such issue to the use of the second third and every other son of the body of Thos on the body of Sarah etc and for default of issue to the use of the first daughter of the body of the said Thos on the body of the said Sarah etc and for the heirs of her body etc and for default of issue to the use of the second third and every other daughter etc in seniority of age etc and for default of such issue then to the use of the right heirs of the said Thos and Jn Newton came and was admitted to hold for life as aforesaid etc by the ancient annual rent of 10s etc and he gave fine etc
