whereas at a court held 11.3.1734 Robt Humm surrendered by the hands of Jn Wale esq senior steward all that his customary messuage or tenement with appurtenances called Prills held by the annual rent of 2s to the use of his last will and at a court held 1.6.1741 the death of the said Robt was presented by the homage and that by his will dated 15.10.1740 he devised as followeth I give devise and bequeath unto Eliz my loving wife all that my copyhold messuage or tenement called Prills with the yards gardens and appurtenances thereunto belonging lying in Earls Colne aforesaid and holden of the manor of Colne Priory during the term of her natural life and after her decease I give my said messuage or tenement called Prills with appurtenances to be divided betwixt my two sons Robt Humm and Thos Humm that is to say I give and bequeath that copyhold part now in the occupation of Jas Ballard to my son Robt Humm with the appurtenances thereunto belonging and to the heirs of him the said Robt Humm forever I also give and bequeath unto my son Thos Humm the other part of my messuage called Prills with the appurtenances thereunto belonging wherein I now dwell and to his heirs forever and thereupon the said Eliz was admitted for life in pursuance of the said will now at this court the homage present the death of the said Eliz whereupon came Robt Humm one of the sons and was admitted to all that part of the said messuage called Prills late in the tenure of Jas Ballard and now of the said Robt Humm according to his father's will by the annual rent apportioned of 1s and he gave fine etc also Thos Humm the other son came and was admitted to all that other part of the messuage called Prills late in the tenure of the said Robt Humm his father and now of the said Jas Ballard according to his father's will and by the annual rent of 1s and he gave fine etc
