to this court came Antho Sparrow and surrendered into the hands of the lord three crofts of land containing by estimation about 10a of land late parcel of a certain field called Bomefeld lying in the southern part of a certain field called Bomefeld sometime of Jn Bredge as by the metes and bounds etc to the use and behoof of Wm Wade junior his heirs and assigns who present in court came and sought for himself and Margt his wife admittance thereof and they were admitted thereof tenants of the lord to whom by the steward the lord delivered thereof seisin to hold to them and the heirs of Wm himself from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor etc and they gave to the lord their fine as is shown in the margin
3s and made fealty to the lord however this same present surrender and seisin thereof is freely made upon the following condition viz that if the aforesaid Wm his heirs or assigns should pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Antho Sparrowe or his rightful attorney or executors on the feast of the annunciation next following after this present date in the dwelling house of Antho himself at Maldon Essex 26s8d and four capons a further 23s4d remaining to paid then this present surrender and the seisin thereof freely should be in all its force and should remain in effect and if there should be default in any payment of the said payments contrary to the said form that then there should be entry for the same said Antho and his heirs into the said three crofts of land with appurtenances and into any parcel thereof to be returned and given back and as in his old estate to hold and enjoy and possess and the aforesaid Wm Wade his heirs and assigns are to be totally expelled from there and removed this same present surrender and seisin should not stand in any respect
