it is shown and certified by Jn Churche steward and by the homage that Jn Fen of Clare and Margery his wife on the day of this court in the dwelling house of Geo Byston Margery herself solely and secretly examined by the lord's steward and acknowledged surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the said steward in the presence of Robt Peirson Jn Mallary and Wm Estaie tenants of the lord and others the same testifying one croft of land lying below the park of our lord the earl of Oxford parcel of a tenement sometime Parker's whereof one head thereof abuts upon the lands of the lord of this manor called Carterscroft and the other head thereof abutting upon a lane leading from the king's highway as far as Smythefeld as etc to the use and behoof of Geo Byston Agnes his wife and the heirs of their bodies between them legitimately procreated who the same said Geo present in court came and sought for himself and for the aforesaid Agnes his wife admittance and because thus it was shown and certified therefore they were admitted tenants of the lord thereof to whom the lord delivered thereof seisin to hold for themselves and the heirs of their bodies legitimately procreated between them from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor etc and in default of such heirs the remainder thereof to the aforesaid Geo and his heirs and he gave to the lord his fine as is shown in the margin
