25. October. This week my cold continued I was seldom troubled but in the wheezing; it was a very gentle rod, and mixed with abundance of mercy, god was good in our preservations and in our health, and peace, Mrs Mary our dear friend very ill with headache but by gods mercy now well again; my wife has had many brunts, but they blow over to the Lord be praise, god was good in keeping us from divers evils, merciful in enabling me for the Sabbath, my heart smites me for my neglect of my studies through multitude of occasions; I hope god will blow them over, gave notice of the Fast:
