3. Captain Maidstone brought the news to Sr Tho. Honywood : 2 Deputy Lieut. Mr Tindall Mr Sawyer burgess for Colchester refused to join with Sr H. Th. in raising forces to oppose in our own defence, which yet we agreed to do, wherein some few did their best for their poor country, for my part I went daily to Coggeshall to observe the work, wherein I was no hindrance I went and returned commonly by my Lady Honywoods whom god used as a precious instrument in this work,
