29. this day lent to Mr Pelham and his son on their bond. 50li.

[Hail] This day I observed expositors judging hail in the Revelation to signify, the nations invaders and overturners of things in other nations than their own; and meditating of it. I judged it probable, for as much as the hail is produced in another element, and so falls on the earth, and many note our foreigners wars in a nation: as earthquake being proper to the earth notes out the commotions of home born men, which we call civil war, and all alterations of governments done by a country among themselves:
