March: 5. frost and clear so two days before, god good in his word. this week alarmed by a hasty letter and messenger as if my daughter Smith were dying: her mother arose and away presently for a coach to London, and found her better of which I was certified speedily(.) Mrs Androws whom I brought into the priory , would not let it to my son and me, but to one that married into the family of Abbutt , that bearded her husband , and hated Mr Harlakenden , and unconcerned herself with me. god be my portion and that is enough.
