to this court came Lance Gylott and showed here in full court a certain warrant and sought the same to be enrolled in the rolls of this court the tenor of which is in the following words Earls Colne be it known to all men by these presents that I Rich Harlakenden esq lord of the said manor have licensed and by these presents do give liberty and licence unto Lance Gylott to so dig or stub up two elms now standing or being upon the customary lands of the said Lance holden of my said manor one of the said elms being fit for timber to be employed upon repairing of the customary tenement of the said Lance called Firman Tylers and the other meet only for firewood to be employed for him for his necessary fuel at his pleasure and these presents to be enrolled at the next court to be holden at and for my said manor shall be his sufficient warrant in that behalf given under my hand and seal this 9.1.1603 Rich Harlakenden
