his wife were admitted tenants of the lord for their lifetimes by the surrender of

himself to one cottage with customary garden adjoining containing by estimation half a rood of land or thereabouts formerly
Simon Ward's
the remainder after their decease to
Thos Spicer
son of the said
Roger
and his heirs forever now at this court it is shown by the homage that the said
Roger Spicer
and
Joan
his wife and the aforesaid
Thos Spicer
died many years ago and that
Jn Catte
is son and heir of
Joan
late wife of
Edw Catte
being sister and next heir of the said
Thos Spicer
and inheritor of the said premises upon which now to this court came the said
Jn Catte
and sought admittance from the lord to the aforesaid premises with appurtenances to whom the lord by his steward granted seisin thereof to have to the same
Jn Catte
his heirs and assigns to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine as is shown in the margin and made fealty to the lord and was admitted thereof tenant of the lord
