15swhereas at a court here held saturday in easter week 2.4.1597 Thos Wade was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs to three crofts of land containing by estimation about 20a of land called Bowerfields upon which one messuage or tenement was built according as by a roll of the same court henceforth of the court now here brought and clearly shown whereas also at a court here held tuesday being 18.2.3Jas1 Hugh Johnson was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs by the surrender of the said Thos to two parcels of the said land containing altogether by estimation about 7a3r7p according as it is shown in the said court now at this court it is shown by the homage that out of this court and after the last court the said Thos Wade surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Robt Cobbe instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Pierson and Sam Game customary tenants of the lord and the same testifying according to the custom of the said manor half the remainder of the said lands and other premises to the use and behoof of the said Thos Wade and his assigns for and during all the natural lifetime of Thos Wade himself the remainder thereof after his decease to Robt Parker and Eliz Wade daughter of the said Thos Wade and the heirs and assigns of the said Robt Parker forever to whom the same Thos present here in court the lord by his said steward granted seisin thereof to have to the same Thos Wade and his assigns for and during the whole natural lifetime of Thos himself the remainder thereof after his decease as above to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine as is shown in the margin and he made fealty to the lord and was admitted thereof tenant of the lord
