whereas at a court here held saturday being the 22.9.1599 Chas Huntisman was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs to one tenement with garden adjoining with appurtenances called Frannces situated in the said Colne with a certain gateway for going out and coming in of the said garden into Lowefield as by copy of the said court roll it is clearly shown now at this court it is shown by the homage that the said Chas Huntisman out of court and after the last court surrendered the said premises with appurtenances into the hands of the lord by the hands of Robt Ellette instead of the bailiff in the presence of Hugh Johnson and Wm Catte customary tenants of the lord the same testifying according to the custom of the said manor to the use and behoof of Helen Golding now wife of the said Chas and the assigns of Helen herself for and during her entire natural lifetime and because no one came to take the premises from the hands of the lord and to pay to the lord the fine as it was owed therefore there is a precept to the bailiff to seize into the hands of the lord the said premises with appurtenances and to take the profits thereof for the lord
