to this court came Robt Eelie and produced in full court a certain warrant under the seal of Rich Harlakenden esq lord of the said manor and sought for the said warranty to be enrolled in the roll of this court and it was granted to him etc and the tenor of the same is in these following words Earls Colne be it known to all men by these presents that I Rich Harlakenden esq lord of the said manor of Earls Colne have licensed and by these presents do give liberty and licence to Robt Eelie to fell or stub a certain young oaken spirk now growing upon the customary lands of the said Robt holden of my said manor by copy of court roll and the same to employ upon the repairing the customary tenement of the said Robt holden also of my said manor the same tree to be so felled or stubbed before the feast day of the nativity of our lord god next coming after the date hereof and these presents to be enrolled at the next court to be holden for my said manor shall be his sufficient warranty in that behalf given this 9.10.1609
