whereas at a view of frankpledge with court here held friday being 5.10.1610 Jn Reade was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs to a cottage built with a garden adjoining Charles Paines lying in the said Colne viz between the churchyard of the parish church of the said Colne on one part towards the north and the way leading as far as Colne Park on the other part towards the south one head thereof abutting upon the church green towards the east and the other upon Hallyard towards the west as is shown by a court roll now at this court it is shown by the homage that the said Jn Reade out of court and before this court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Dan Lea instead of the bailiff in the presence of Thos Prior and Edw Catte two customary tenants the same testifying according to the custom of the said manor all the said premises with their appurtenances to the use and behoof of Elias Savell his heirs and assigns forever who the same said Elias present in court came and sought admittance for himself to the premises according to the said surrender to whom the lord by his steward granted seisin thereof to have to him and his heirs to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine as shown in the margin and made fealty to the lord and was admitted tenant thereof
