item it is shown by the homage that Rich Jollie customary tenant of this manor who held for himself and his heirs from the lord by the rod etc the hay pasture and the pasture of the wood called Hansers Hedge situated in the said Earls Colne surrendered the aforesaid premises after the last court and before this court into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of Jn Parker instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Pierson and Robt Crowe customary tenants of the said manor the same testifying according to the custom of the said manor to the use and behoof of Thos Harlakenden gentleman his heirs and assigns forever now to this court in person came the aforesaid Thos Harlakenden and sought from the lord admittance to the said premises in the manner and form stated above whereas the lord of the manor by the said steward granted thereof seisin to him to have and to hold the said hay pasture and pasture to the same said Thos Harlakenden his heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine and made fealty and was admitted thereof tenant of the lord
