it is shown by the homage that Nich Kendall before this court and after the last court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Jn Draper instead of the bailiff in the presence of Thos Harlakenden gentleman and Robt Crowe two customary tenants the same testifying according to the custom of the said manor two parcels of customary land late parcel of customary lands called Chewnysland containing by estimation about 8a and to one cottage built thereon which he took for himself and his heirs by the surrender of Thos Stubbing and Margt his wife and of Robt Willowes and Mary his wife at a court here held the friday after easter being 9.4.1618 upon the condition of payment of 40li to the aforesaid Thos Stubbing and Robt Willowes on a certain day then to come and now past as by copy of a roll of the said court clearly shown to the use and behoof of Robt Sache his heirs and assigns to whom the same said Robt present here in court the lord by his steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have to himself the aforesaid Robt Sache his heirs and assigns to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents customs and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he paid his fine and made fealty and was admitted thereof tenant etc
