it is shown by the homage that Elias Savyle out of court and after the last court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Jn Reade instead of the bailiff in the presence of Benedict Scott and Barth Clarke two customary tenants the same testifying according to the custom of the said manor one cottage with garden adjoining called Charles Paynes which he took for himself and his heirs at a view with court here held 17.4.1612 to the use and behoof of Joan Summers wife of Jn Summers her heirs and assigns forever to whom the same said Joan present here in court the lord by his said steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have to herself and her heirs to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents customs and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and she gave to the lord her fine as is shown in the margin and made fealty and was admitted thereof tenant etc
