it appears to the homage that Nich Borley out of court and after the last court on 20.6.1622 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Wm Browne instead of the bailiff in the presence of Thos Prior and Edw Browne two customary tenants the same testifying according to the custom of the said manor one tenement or cottage in the said Earls Colne to the use and behoof of Hen Makin his heirs and assigns forever to whom the same said Hen present here in court the lord by his said steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have for himself and his heirs to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents customs and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he made fine and fealty and was admitted thereof tenant etc
