and furthermore whereas at the said court held 3.1.1637 the said Eliz Mary Thomasine and Dorothy were admitted tenants of the lord to themselves and their heirs to one croft of customary land called Spoutfield according as it is clearly shown by the said court now at this court it is shown by the homage that the said Wm Lumpkin and Thomasine his wife after the said court and before this court viz on 18.4.1637 Thomasine herself now at this court solely and secretly examined by the said steward according as is the custom surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Thos Fisher instead of the bailiff in the presence of Edw Cressner senior gentleman and Thos Smith two customary tenants of the said manor according to the customs of the said manor their part and share of the whole of the said croft with appurtenances by name all that croft called Spoutfield with appurtenances to the use and behoof of the said Edw Cressner junior gentleman his heirs and assigns forever and furthermore to this court came the said Jos Wiseman and Eliz his wife Jn Beckwith a nd Mary his wife and Thos Theneth and Dorothy his wife the said Eliz Mary and Dorothy solely and secretly examined by the said steward according as is the custom and they surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of his said steward the said croft of land with appurtenances called Spoutfield and all their parts and shares of the said croft with appurtenances to the use and behoof of the said Edw Cressner junior his heirs and assigns forever who present in court sought admittance to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said croft of land with appurtenances to the said Edw Cressner junior his heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the customs of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine and made fealty and was admitted tenant thereof
