and afterwards in the same court and the court sitting came the said Clem Turner and Edith his wife Edith herself solely and secretly examined by the said steward as if the custom and surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the said steward the said messuage or cottage with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Dionisia Hawksby now wife of Jn Hawksby clerk vicar of Earls Colne and before that wife of Rich Lancaster doctor of theology deceased for the term of the life of the said Dionisia and after her decease to the use and behoof of Margt Lancaster daughter of the said Rich and Dionisia and the heirs of the body of the said Margt legitimately procreated and in default of such issue to the use of the rightful heirs of the said Dionisia forever whereupon came here into court the said Dionisia and humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said messuage or cottage with appurtenances to the said Dionisia and her assigns for her lifetime the remainder thereof in the said form from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the customs of the said manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and she gave to the lord her fine and was admitted tenant
