to this court came Jas Potter who held for himself and his heirs one customary tenement called The Stable and The Cowhouse and one customary tenement built with a garden parcel of a tenement late Thos Prince's one with a way late parcel of Bearcrofte leading towards the said Bearcrofte with free entry and exit to drive cattle and carts as is shown by the court roll bearing the date 8.1.1645 and in full and open court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of his said steward the said tenement and other premises with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Wm Harlakenden of Earls Colne gentleman and Smithea his wife and the heirs and assigns of the said Wm Harlakenden forever who present in court humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said tenement and other premises with appurtenances to the said Wm Harlakenden and Smithea his wife and the heirs of the said Wm forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the customs of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they gave to the lord their fine and the said Wm made fealty
