and furthermore whereas at the said court held 1.12.1624 as said above the said Edw Cressner was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs to two crofts of land late one croft containing about 8a with appurtenances late parcel of the demesne lands of the said manor lying in the field called Lowefeild within Chiffen adjoining the herd house late of the same from the conduit and three crofts of land called Bromedcrofts in Earls Colne a parcel of the demesne lands of this manor and whereas at the last general court held for the said manor on the said 15.1.last it was shown by the homage that the said Edw Cressner died seised thereof and that the said Geo Cressner is his son and heir as is shown by the said court roll now to this court came the said Geo Cressner and humbly sought admittance to the premises to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said two crofts of land with appurtenances to the said Geo Cressner his heirs and assigns from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine and made fealty
