Brownes whereas at a court held for the said manor 8.4.1619 Hugh Potter and Margt his wife customary tenants of the said manor in right of the said Margt being solely and secretly examined by Jn Stephens esq then steward did surrender into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of his said steward one messuage late of Rich Broome and formerly of Wm Davisons and a yard to the same adjoining with a way to the said messuage pertaining to carry and recarry out of and to the said garden into a lane called Berecroft Lane with the appurtenances to the use and behoof of the said Margt for the term of her natural life and after her decease to the use of Margt Bridge daughter of the said Hugh and Margt and of the heirs of the said Margt Bridge forever whereupon the said Margt Potter was admitted tenant according to the said surrender for term of her life now at this court it was presented by the homage that the said Margt the said wife of the said Hugh since the last court died and that the said Margt Bridge in the lifetime of her said mother died and that Wm Bridge is son and heir of the said Margt Bridge and of full age who being present in court humbly prayed to be admitted tenant to the said messuage and premises to whom the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said messuage and premises with the appurtenances to the said Wm Bridge his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs due and of right accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine and did his fealty
