whereas at a court held for the said manor 16.2.1648 it was presented by the homage that Sam Game the elder since the then last court did surrender into the hands of the lord by the hands of Jas Game instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Edw Browne and Wm Adams two customary tenants of the said manor three parcels of land containing 9a called Bettins Lands to the use of the said Sam Game for his life and after his decease to the use of Sam Game the younger for his life and after his decease to the use of Jane Game t he wife of Sam Game the younger during her widowhood and after her decease to the use of Jas Game the son of the said Sam Game the younger and of the said Jane his wife and of the heirs and assigns of the said Jas forever now at this court it was presented by the homage that the said Sam Game the younger and Jane his wife died in the lifetime of the said Sam Game the elder and that the said Sam Game the elder since the last court died whereupon the said Jas Game the son did come and desired to be admitted tenant to the said premises to whom the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said parcel of land with the appurtenances to the said Jas Game his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs due and he gave to the lord for his fine
