at this court came Giles Crowe in his own person and did surrender into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of his said steward one customary messuage or tenement and the yard with the appurtenances called Pannells to the use of Jn Stephens the younger and of his heirs and assigns which premises the said Giles Crowe did take to him and his heirs at a court held for the said manor 23.6.1650 whereupon the said Jn Stephens did come and desired to be admitted tenant to the same to whom the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said messuage or tenement and premises to the said Jn Stephens his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs due and he gave to the lord for a fine and did his fealty
