whereas at a court held for the said manor 19.12.1640 Ann Game afterwards the wife of Jn Holden and Eliz afterwards the wife of Jn Crow were admitted tenants to them and their heirs to one customary messuage and two crofts of land called Blowerfeild containing 8a more or less held by the yearly rent of 2s and whereas afterwards a partition and division was made between the said Jn Holden and Ann his wife and the said Eliz before her marriage by which partition the said messuage with the appurtenances and one of the said crofts of land that is to say the croft next adjoining to the said messuage and containing 2a more or less was allotted and assigned to the said Eliz as her part and purparty to hold to her and her heirs in severalty by the yearly rent of 1s and the said other croft containing 6a more or less was allotted to the said Jn and Ann as in right of the said Ann and to the heirs of the said Ann to hold in severalty by the yearly rent of 1s and whereas at a court held for the said manor 30.12.1651 it was presented by the homage that the said Ann died thereof so seised and that Jn Holden the younger was her son and heir but because none came to be admitted tenant to the same after proclamation thrice made according to the custom of the said manor a precept was made to seize the lands which seizure was continued at a court held for the said manor 2.11.1652 and whereas at a court held for the said manor 1.11.1653 after proclamation thrice made according to the custom of the said manor none came to be admitted tenant to the premises a precept was made to seize the said land into the lord's hands and forfeited but the lord of the said manor was pleased to respite the execution of the same now at this court the said Jn Holden the younger did come and agreed with the lord for the discharge of the said seizure and desired to be admitted tenant to the said croft of land to whom the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said croft of land containing 6a more or less to the said Jn Holden the younger his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs due and he gave to the lord for his fine
